Biryani is a famous indian dish (we would probably argue it’s the king of indian dishes) made with seasoned and well boiled rice and specially marinated meat, chicken, fish or vegetables. The rice is boiled separately and layered on top of the marinated meat.

Do you want the biryani pot back?

No. You can keep the pot.

What is bombay and hyderabadi biryani?

There are many types of biryani each has its own uniqueness some well known ones are Lucknowi Biryani, Calcutta Biryani, Thalassery Biryani. Ours is hybrid between bombay and hyderabadi biryani which is the closest to the original recipe.

What’s your biryani recipe?

Now that would be telling. We use quality ingredients ranging from variety of spices and masalas, natural yogurt, chillies and saffron.

What do you put in the biryani marinate?

This is where the magic happens. The marinate is made using yoghurt, mixed spices, masalas, onions, tuj, lawang, paprika powder to name a few and the meat is thoroughly mixed through.

Where do you marinate and pre-cook the food?

All our indian food and biryani marination and pre-cooked biryani rice is done in 5 star hygiene rated catering kitchen. It goes without saying but our kitchen is kept very clean at all times.

Do you put saffron or colour in your rice?

We use pure saffron. Never colour as this spoils the taste of the food.

You can send us an email and we will decide on a case by case basis as it depends on availability as well as other factors.

What is the difference between lamb biryani and chicken biryani?

In lamb biryani we use red meat and this is also why it is called hyderabadi biryani because of the use of meat. Whereas in chicken biryani we use white meat.

What kind of rice do you use?

We use proper biryani rice. These are long rice grains that grow double the size when we leave them in water for a set amount of time. You can see how long the rices are in our product photos.

What is the difference between biryani and pilau?

The main ingredient is biryani is rice and meat and in many cases the rice is layered. However in pilau the main ingredient is mince (keemo) which can also be layered but the masala is cooked like a curry unlike the biryani which marinated off the cooker.

What kind of masalas do you use for biryani and other indian meals?

We only use quality ingredients. We never use ready made masalas as it goes against our values and also these “packet masalas” are full of preservatives.
